The ingredients needed to make Dal Dhokli:
Take 1 Cup Arhar ki dal/ Toor lentil (Soaked in water for 10 mins)
Make ready 4-5 Cups Water or as required
Take as per taste Salt
Prepare 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Get 1 Onion finely chopped (optional)
Get 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
Prepare 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Take 2 Tablespoons Deshi ghee
Take 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Make ready 2-3 dry whole red chillies
Get as required Coriander leaves (optional)
Get Few Mint leaves (optional)
Take 4-5 garlic cloves (grated)
Get 2 pinches Asafoetida
Get 1 pinch sugar
Prepare 2 Cups wheat flour
Instructions to make Dal Dhokli:
First Pressure cook the dal by adding turmeric powder, salt and as required add water to it and pressure cook it. Turn on the gas flame in full mode wait for 1 Whistle and then turn off the gas flame.
Now in the mean time prepare Dough by adding salt, water and wheat 🌾 flour. The Dough must be soft. Rest the Dough for 5 mins.
Now make Dhokli take a big portion of the dough roll it on the kitchen platform by adding dry wheat flour roll it like a Roti and with the help of a cookie 🍪 cutter just make shapes (you any choose any shapes as you desire) and just fold it from the heart shape and just press it.
Now open the pressure cooker and just mix the dal add more 2 Cups water to it and just add red chilli powder, if required more salt and all Prepared Dhokli and just cook it for 10 mins in Medium flame.
Tempering take a pan add ghee, onion, garlic, red whole Chillies, cumin seeds and just saute it for 2 mins, then Asafoetida and now add cooked dal and Dhokli to it and add cook for 5 more mins in Medium flame, then add sugar and lemon juice. Garnish it with coriander leaves and Mint leaves.
