The ingredients needed to make Savoury cake:
Take 1/2 cup moong dal
Prepare 1/2 cup urad dal
Get 1/4 cup chana dal
Make ready 1/4 cup tuar dal
Take 1/2 cup rice
Make ready (soak all this for around 7hrs)
Get as needed Chopped cashews, raisins
Prepare To taste Ginger garlic green chilli paste
Take to taste Red chilli powder
Make ready 2 tbsp curd
Make ready 1/4 tsp baking soda
Prepare to taste Salt and sugar
Prepare For tempering
Take 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
Get 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Take 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
Take as needed chilli flakes
Instructions to make Savoury cake:
Grind dal and rice to a smooth paste using water (after 7 hrs)
Mix all in a big bowl and soak
Grinded paste
To the portion of batter, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, Red chilli powder, salt, dhaniya powder, sugar, cashews and kishmish. - Mix well and let it rest for an hour (minimum)
Take curd in a bowl and mix soda to it. Mix well so that the fizz arise well. - Mix this to the rested batter. Mix well.
Spread this well in a greased tin.
Over the batter, spread the tempering. - For it heat oil in a pan. Crackle jeera, mustard seeds and sauf. Put flame off and put little chilli flakes and spread evenly over cake batter.
Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for the time till it gets brown outside (it took me 22 minutes). It might vary with different microwaves and ovens.
Let it cool and demould. Cut and serve with tea.. As a snack… With chutney and ketchup or aiwai π
